swisspor is a swiss company with over 50 years of experience in insulation. The company has expanded its presence in several European markets, operating in 17 factories in Switzerland and Europe. On the Romanian market since 1998, swisspor is one of the most important suppliers of thermal, soundproofing and waterproofing products and systems, in line with the European standards in the field.

Initial situation:

The collaboration between swisspor and Netland Computers began in 2008, when the company pointed out the need for professional IT support to solve existing problems, then further develop the IT infrastructure efficiently and reliably.

Progress:

Netland Computers was required from the very beginning to cover the full range of IT services, from designing, installing and configuring infrastructure solutions to maintenance and technical support. Over time, Netland was there at every expansion of the factory space coming with increasing production capacity. The long-term collaboration has led to a good knowledge of specific situations and the possibility of coming up with optimal solutions, tailored to each case. Each time, Netland implemented the technology that, in the medium and long term, proved to be the most profitable.

Since the beginning of the collaboration, more than 1,500 hours of predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance have been delivered to ensure the uninterrupted operation of IT equipment. For swisspor, any difficulties in the IT infrastructure can significantly affect the company’s activity and profit, due to production lines interruptions. Therefore, safe operation and rapid response in interventions were indicators of performance to which the entire collaboration referred.

During the COVID pandemic Netland Computers, adapted to the new situation by installing technology that helped maintain productivity and the ability to communicate and collaborate. New equipment such as laptops, APs and work terminals were delivered, installed and configured, ensuring mobility and security in the context of remote work.

Solutions and equipment taken over or installed: network / infrastructure equipment, terminals, servers, routers, modems, APs, structured cabling in the production area, wireless, multifunctional equipment, virtualization, IT security, cloud solutions and applications for collaboration and productivity, maintenance services.

Future projects: A new IT infrastructure, based on Fortigate servers and routers, will be implemented at the swisspor group level between 2022 and 2024. Netland will be the Romanian partner in this project and will provide the hardware and networking part, as well as the implementation of a wide range of Microsoft applications. The infrastructure will also ensure the operation of a modern ERP, which requires seamless communication with the company’s servers in Switzerland.
